Woah.. long time since I updated. I've barely been online on MSN or Garena also since I'm busy playing "Dragon Age: Origins". I recently just finished the Dalish Elf storyline and am in the midst of playing the Human Noble storyline now.
My interest in DotA is beginning to dwindle and I think by the end of this year, I'll be quitting DotA. There are so much more games out there to enjoy anyway.
O Levels will be over after tomorrow, at least for me. I'm not sure if there's anymore paper remaining for other people, but there's only Pure Chem MCQ left tomorrow. It's stupid that I have to go to school at 8am and then go home at 9am though...

Nearing the end of O levels. After Pure Physics Paper 2 and Geography Elective Paper tomorrow, there'll only be Pure Physics MCQ and Pure Chemistry MCQ remaining.
I studied for the first time for Social Studies, reading 18 essay answers thoroughly. My efforts were paid off when the exact same question came out for Globalisation. When I did the Social Studies paper, I did the essay questions immediately while I still remembered the answers. Hopefully, I can do well for Combined Humanities this time round :p Chemistry on the other hand was easy, so I won't elaborate much.
Last Sunday, I participated in AutumnFlux Grand Finals, playing as last for limyang's team, and got 2nd. We lost to XtC in the winner bracket finals, then won our way from the loser brackets back to the overall finals, where we had to win XtC 2 games and XtC had to win only 1 game. We won the first game, then lost the decisive match, hence getting 2nd.

After today (A.Maths Paper 2), 3 subjects will be done and over with for O levels - English, E.Maths, A.maths. The problem is I haven't even studied for any of the subjects up until now.
English was while E.Maths was a breeze. A.maths was probably something in between. Pure chem shouldn't be much of a problem but I'll need to work a fair bit on combined humanities though, especially Social Studies.
There was this question in E.Maths Paper 1 which tricked quite a number of people.
The three answers different people gave were t=1, t=2 or t=4.
The correct answer was t=2.
How people arrived at t=4,
(12/24) * 8 = 4 - Worst answer ever
How people arrived at t=1,
(12/24)^3 * 8 = 1
Logical answer at first glance, since volume ratio is (Linear ratio)^3.
However, upon closer look, only the triangular area is changing, while the height (From the triangular area) remains constant throughout.
Hence the answer was,
(12/24)^2 * 8 = 2
This can be further proven by subbing in a few numbers:
Let the triangular area of water be 50 cm^2 and the height from the triangular area be x cm (Which is constant).
Triangular area of container = (24/12)^2 x 50 = 200 cm^2
To find volume of water, it'll be 50x cm^3.
To find volume of container, it'll be 200x cm^3
(50x/200x) = 50/200 = 1/4 = (12/24)^2
This Sunday, I'll be playing the AutumnFlux Grand Finals with limyang's team which is called Win & Stay in this competition. After that... don't know... heck.

Went for DotaSG's AutumnFlux open category competition today and emerged as champions, winning 1 Diamondback3G and $20 per person and some voucher (or something like that) for Colosseum which is worth around $240 (For the whole team). We also got a slot in the AutumnFlux Grand Finals next sunday by getting first. The open category was supposed to have 16 slots, but only 4 teams signed up for it in the end.
AutumnFlux will be the first and last competition with limyang, SeaBear, squirrel.xl and nano, ;p For those who don't know yet, the original Axis.Dota has disbanded.
Gaming aside, tomorrow marks the start of O Levels and the first paper will be English paper 1 & 2. The problem is I have yet to study for any of the subjects and just a few weeks ago I was saying I was going to study during the 1 week before 'O's, gg.

Arrived back in Singapore yesterday noon. We were almost late for our flight but luckily made it in time to find out that the flight was delayed anyway...
I haven't got the pictures yet, so I'll just cut down on the length of the post and summarise it:
We reached Bangkok on Wednesday evening, where the ESTC people transported us to the hotel via a van.
There was a lot of free time to spend since there was only 1-2 matches per day. Hence, during the free time, we either went out to eat or shop. Most of the food are spicy and those who cannot take spicy food will be unable to enjoy most of the food there. For example, the tom-yum there is spicy but marvelous.
The taxi fare there was cheap compared to Singapore. probably around half-rate. However, there is a lot of traffic jams there.
As for the competition, it was quite a smooth-sailing journey to the quarterfinals, where we then lost to Cybertime.Int (Not full Cybertime team) due to some mistakes in drafting. Most people were then surprised by the results of the semifinals: Cybertime.Int > AEON, XtC > Kingsurf.
One common complaint was the fact that it was single elimination instead of double elimination. For a major competition with international teams, it is common practice for it to be double elimination to better decide the winner.
O Levels are approaching but I still can't find the drive to study right now and I'll probably start studying on the weekends. Currently, it's gaming time :p

Going off to Thailand for ESTC soon. Our flight is at 6.20 pm.
Will be back on 19th.

One last week to ESTC and within this one week will be 3 more days of truncated lessons.
Didn't go for lessons on wednesday and thursday because I was down with flu and fever. My fever has already subsided but I'm still having blocked nose symptoms.
Currently, I'm looking forward to 2 other games apart from SC2 and D3: The Secret World and Guild Wars 2.
The Secret World is a MMORPG set in a modern world but with magic, guns, swords, etc. etc. Apparently, the whole map is modelled after the real world, so you can basically 'visit' other countries like New York in the game. You can find the official website here.
As for Guild Wars 2 (Also a MMORPG), I think there's not much need for me to elaborate much. The previous series were pretty much a huge success and the PvP was one of the great parts about them. The developers seem to be working hard to make Guild Wars 2 much better than before and I hope so too :p
Moving on to the next topic, I got 6 5 4 3 free invites for League of Legends. I don't plan to play that game either way but if anyone wants the beta keys, just MSN me and I'll pass them to you. First come first serve basis, of course.

Tomorrow will be the start of the 2nd week of Sec 4 Truncated Lessons and it will also mean that ESTC is drawing closer.
Our team lineup for ESTC has yet to be confirmed. Originally, we already had 4 slots locked and were only deciding who should be our last. However, due to some unexpected turn of events, we're now thinking of who our last 2 players will be.
Yesterday, I went out with Kai and Tofu to eat Suki Sushi @ Cineleisure. At the end of the buffet, Beanie and benWAH arrived and we went to Plaza Singapura to watch the movie, Surrogates. Following that, I went back home to DotA as usual. Mundane life of a gamer, I guess...
Heroes of Newerth was just updated recently, adding yet another new hero and changing many other stuff. Sadly, I still don't feel like playing it due to the limited pool of heroes compared to DotA.
Apart from gaming, I've been watching anime as usual. Recently, I just finished watching Druaga no To season 1 & 2. It's quite a interesting Medieval Fantasy genre anime with a good mix of comedy, character-development and plot. This anime was based off a RPG video game made in 1980s and was rather popular then. The ending of the 2nd season, Sword of the Uruk, was rather unsatisfying though, as it felt rather rushed and hence left many unanswered questions. Apart from that, it's a good anime overall.
Now, iit's time for me to go to sleep. I'm starting to feel unwell due to my screwed up sleeping hours, so I'm going to need to get back to normal sleeping times.

Alright, this post is going to be the one of the few 85% school and 15% gaming type of posts. As usual, it's a no-picture post again, ;p
Received about 70% of all the preliminaries results yesterday and today. Apparently, I can do considerably well without studying for most subjects, but as for Combined Humanities...
I guess it's about time I start picking up my Social Studies and Geography Elective books to study. Since the start of sec 4, I haven't studied for Combined Humanities at all and if I still don't do so for the 'O's, I'm gonna get f***ed.
5 of my classmates and I are having a small bet for Preliminaries.
1. Highest Overall Percentage for Preliminaries will treat everyone a meal
2. Lowest L1R5 for Preliminaries will treat everyone a meal also
In the case that the same person falls under both category, he'll treat each person a meal and a drink.
I'm probably quite safe though, cause' I screwed up my Combined Humanities this time.
Among the 6 of us, one of them is merely waiting for the meals because he got 2 F9, 1 E8 and the other few ranging from C6 to B4. However, the free meals are most probably unable to offset his severe disappointment in his results.
Our Physics teacher told us that we performed well for our SPA, so 20% of our 'O' Levels Physics is secured.
Tomorrow, the remaining 30% of the results will be revealed. After that, from the 1st of October to 16th of October, we'll be having Sec 4 Truncated Lessons, which means we'll have to go back to school for the next 2 weeks still. I'll be skipping the last 2 days of lessons though, since I'll be off to Thailand for ESTC by 14 evening.

At long last, prelims is over and all that's left is to receive the results next week. The next 2 days are marking days, so there's no need for me to go to school.
While we were in Johor for SMM a few weeks ago, my mates used my phone because I was the only one with Autoroam and had reception. A few days ago, the bill just arrived; aprox. $30 just for 2 days, gg.com
Apart from the $30, I have yet to claim my $40 for the SMM Johor registration fee (I had to fork out the money because Lance hasn't paid then) and $35 that my friend owes me, holy shit...
There's also the $150 from the recent CPC competition that has yet to arrive.
Total amount: $255
(I'm just typing this out so I don't forget about it, LOL)
Currently, there aren't any upcoming local competitions, so it's time to take a break from training (Not that we have much training anyway...). I guess our trip to Kazakhstan for OSPL has been cancelled already, but at least there's still the Thailand competition; ESTC. Everything, including air tickets, has been settled for the trip to Thailand, so I doubt it will suffer the same fate as our trip to KZ ;p
Earlier this afternoon, I was using a smurf garena account to play pub in Singapore Dota Room 5. After a few months of Premium Membership with my main account, I remembered how hard it is to even get into room 5 without gold or premium member, LOL.
